Grip Set
How do i get a new set of grips on my dirt bike?
I know i can just cut the old one off on the clutch side, but i don't know how it will ever fit over the throttle tube on the right side. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks
Im sure i can get it on the left side, but the throttle tube is bigger than the handlebar tube, that is my problem i guess
They should be different sizes and if they are not then take them back. If you hold them side by side and can see that one is bigger then you have a correct set and there is many ideas on the best way to put them on. Some people use hairspray, others use the proper grip glue. We tend to use an air compressor nossel to blow the opening wider and then the pressure allows you to slip it on over the bar. We then use fine wire to hold the grips in place. We don't use the wire most use but instead use copper wire as it is slightly thicker and so bends better and doesn't break as easy. It also moulds better into the grip.
Make sure once you remove your old grips that you clean the bar surface properly to remove any left over glue from the old pair before you try to put the new ones on.
