X-stiff shaft driver?
I am currently using a Callaway FT-iQ with UST Proforce graphite shaft HMOI rigid. After going to Dick I discovered that I should use an X-stiff shaft. My clubhead speed is always between 125-130. My driver is a * 9 since I tend Love the trajectory a little lower. I really wonder what kind of tree would be best for me? I'm not really familiar with the feedback of torque and stuff flex point. I played all my life, but do not really know much about the clubs themselves. A side issue be that the length should I look? I'm 6'1 "and this driver feels shorter than my old one. If I want the club up on the field and measure it, it amounts to about 46.5. I know this is not the length of the tree because it is, including the head of the club.
Length is not based on size, for most. Obviously, there could be a problem is Shaquille O'Neal tried to play 42 "driver, because it would have difficulty keep intact its posture during the swing. For most of us, it is based on capacity. If you're properly equipped, the installer find your wrist measures ground, but only use it as a starting point. You hit balls with the club first round, which will impact tape on the face. If you have a striking inconsistency, a short club will be recommended. If you are consistent in the center of the face, you can stay there or move to a more club. Do not buy anything having to do with length. It does not matter if that mark, or if the head is lighter, or what-if too long to swing if you can not focus, solid surface contact, no matter what light or heavy it is. Think about this: best of the best professional golfers, on average from 44.5 to 45 inch drivers. These are the best ballstrikers, the top 1%. If they thought they could play of 45, 5 "+ driver mix both distance and accuracy (especially with all the layouts on tour tight now), do not you think they? If the top 1% of all golfers do not think they can treat these drivers extra length, making the rest of us think we can? It is much more to the equation just swing speed, but if you are in the 125ish range, looking at an "X" is where begin. You must then look at your launch angle and backspin rate. * You will have a 12 or so LA, and SR ~ 3000 rpm ... give or take, because of your personality swing mechanics. For starters, what's your tempo like? If it is smooth, a tree over-load may work well (no doubt feel good, to boot), to Conversely, if you're a hard-swinging, a tree with low torque can be the ticket. As for bending point (point bending AKA), it can certainly effect the sensation of a tree ... a tree with low BP can feel better for a smooth swinger, while a high-BP tree can feel better for a hard swinger. BP should be used as a change to your LA ... there is a difference of about 1 * between "high" BP and a "low" BP, so if you're objective is to change your Los Angeles by a diploma, the exchange of BP could. You can also change to a heavier version of the same model down the path, but any other adjustments that will come from the top or by increasing its center of gravity (Which will only happen by using a large number of lead strips ... unsightly and impractical), the transition to an open-face version (50/50 whether it would help or not ... installation will take care of that), or a low lofted model (the most convenient. Do not believe the hype, either. There have been scientific evidence which shows that trees can do the same, regardless of how much they cost. There is even software available (through the site's Tom Wishon, for members) who can help you find it. Say you installed in a tree, but it costs $ 250 and your budget for an updated tree is <$ 100 ... plug it into the software and boom-there will be plenty of options. Some say the "feel" would be different, but what is "Feel"? What "feels" right for you can not for me, and vice versa. Not only that, if you like a soft grip / light swingweight and configuration without end, that the tree will "feel" quite different if you went to an underwriting / heavy swingweight / setup disk strengthened ... there therefore no real reason to argue about "feel". So to make a more lengthy response, I will not give you a true "response" all ways for you to find one for yourself. Trees are like putters ... there are so many of each variety on the market there will pricepoints have something for everyone (they use the same models Hype Machine, as well). Do you really think $ 300 Scotty Cameron is "better" than $ 90 Ping Karsten Anser classic (style of Newports are based off SC)? Or a $ 350 putter odyssey Zen cons of $ 120? You CAN NOT you go by what you watch, what looks better to your ears, and what gives you more confidence. Pricepoint plays no role in the performance equation.
