At what stage can a baby face forward in a stroller?

I know this sounds like a silly question; is it when he/she can sit up? The reason I'm asking is b/c we're going to be traveling a fair amount when my daugher is ~6-7 months. I'm happy with our stroller now, but it's not terribly light and might not be the most convenient if we have to lug it around. Thanks for any advice or tips!

As soon as baby can straighten themselves up by themselves when sitting. Remember that the stroller does support their back, it's if they lean to the side can they bring themselves back to an upright position? Some babies can do this earlier than others. My little guy was early with this ability.

I tried the Avalon stroller that reclines, he hated it. There was hardly any seat area and when reclined he didn't look at all comfortable. So I got the regular one with the 5 point harness. We strap a stuffed toy in the seat belt with him and he's not going anywhere. Plus we did some testing in the store without his stuffie and even though the straps are loose he's not falling out of it, even if it got tipped over or upside down. He LOVES it since he can see what's going on around him now and if he wants to sleep he just leans to the side and off he goes. He's only 3 months old and the umbrella stroller was the best 20 bucks I ever spent. I also found it had one of the deeper seats so he snuggles right into it.
